The Heroic Spine and Madness of Deathwing videos should be up on the website's media section and our Youtube channel in a matter of days.
We will also be streaming our farm raids for the next weeks just so that people can get a more in-depth look on how the raiding process works in Genesis.
That being said, now that the progress race is over, it is an ideal time to apply in Genesis as we are looking to plan ahead for our Mists of Pandaria roster and be prepared in the best possible way.
As far as the fight itself goes, i must say that we all liked it a alot but to be fair, it was too easy for an end-expansion and end-content encounter. Feels pretty epic nonetheless!

About time as well. It took us 7 raids to kill Spine of Deathwing 25m Heroic and boy this is a tightly tuned encounter indeed. It also is one of those fights that when you think that you got to the bottom of it, you will get to realize you are not half-way there yet. The highlight was undoubtly during the first week of progress on it, where we managed to lose the whole raiding reset on Spine due to a raid ID lockout related bug that wouldn't allow us to engage the fight at all(thanks for the cool Customer Support Blizz, really). Regardless of that unfortunate event, we pulled our sleeves up, used TriviaBot to keep the team spirit high and strived to work even harder to not lose our progress tempo. Only Madness left now and we are done with raiding content for Cataclysm.

Recruiting for Heroic:Spine of Deathwing! We really do, especially if you are a caster, owner of a certain peculiar looking orange staff with horns on top.
As far as Warmaster Blackhorn goes, the encounter is overall great fun as long as you don't spend too much time wiping from either solo soaking of Twilight Barrages or Deck Fire in Phase 1 and early Phase 2. You don't want that especially if you have resident smokers in your raid. Don't help them on their way to lung cancer, it's cruel.

Genesis was created all the way back in January 2007 shortly before the Burning Crusade launch. The original creators of the guild, visualized a raiding community that wouldn't be as time consuming as the more hardcore ones yet it would be as succesful as they come. A long time has pass since and Genesis has indeed established itself on the forefront of the light-weight raiding progress. As we move forward we can only promise that the best still lies ahead and express our gratitude for the awesome ride we have had thus far. Respect to everybody who were and still are a part of our community.

What a better way to wrap up the 3rd week of Heroic progress, as well as going away on our Christmas break, than with another heroic kill, the fourth in a row.
This time it was Yor'sahj the Unsleeping. The boss took 33 tries in total to die over the period of a night and a half worth of raiding. Probably our fastest learning curve in heroic Dragon Soul thus far so we are beggining to warm up real good for the later half of the raid instance. Very well tuned encounter, felt edgy and the fast kill was a result of a lot of background tactics work involved in our forums, so a huge thank you to everyone participating there, as well as the people who logged on a Thursday night to raid, an offday for Genesis, so that we can now have 5 days worth of Christmas vacation. Regen that much needed mana people, cu all next reset!

Hagara the Stormbinder didn't last for longer than half a raid night.


Warlord Zon'ozz on the other hand took nearly 3 nights to kill, pretty well thought encounter and one that puts a lot of strain on the healing team. Proper Heroic Leap from Killspree and





Last but not least(not really), Morchok and his twin brother Kohcrom, serve as an introduction both in order as well as in difficulty for Dragon Soul raid encounters.

It's been a while since the last major update of the main page, aka the announcement of the Heroic:Ragnaros kill so it's about time for a news recap!
So what has Genesis been on about during the past 6 weeks?
Farming Firelands mainly. But there is so much more than that going on.

Melchemia took the time, despite his ever busy university schedule, to edit the FRAPS material of our first Raggy kill and put together a great video which you can find on Genesis' youtube channel, the guild's website Media section or on a direct download link here.

Ever since Dragon Soul was activated on Patch 4.3's PTR servers, Genesis is actively testing the new content on Naralex EU.  We now have experienced the majority of what the new raiding content has to offer. You can find screenshots of our raids and various spoilers on the new content in the relative Media section gallery. If only the late announcements of Heroic PTR testing wouldn't make our lives there a tad more annoying! Proper thumbs up to the PTR crew,
Omnyslash, Vijaya, Cybes and all those who regularly attend & help run the raids there.

Last but not least, Genesis is looking for more thirsty, hardcore raiders with little time to raid!
The core of the raiding squad is being formed ahead of Dragon Soul raiding but there still are very limited spots left for the most competent of raiders out there. Less than 3 weeks remaining for Patch 4.3, if you want to experience the edge of heroic raiding on a 12 hours/week schedule, then this is your chance:

• If you think that your current guild does not match your own potential and want to improve your gameplay and further your PvE experience.
  
• If you are raiding in a top guild and you are looking to reduce your time spent raiding while still progressing on a reasonable manner.

The kill took 20 raiding nights over the course of the past 7 weeks and a grand total ~230 tries
to accomplish. The amount of effort, team-work, tactics, forum work, frustration and min/max'ing involved was unparalleled and can only be compared by going back to our heroic Lich King raiding. Props' to everyone for stickying together through those rough wipe nights, united we prevail. Big shoutout to the guys that were always online but couldn't actually get to raid due to the stupid setup restrictions of the fight. Defiance, Vj and all the healing squad! Last but not least, i will leave Aranu who just had to go on vacations to Spain and hence missing out on the first kill even though he was here through out the progress.

P.S. I Congrats to Meriam for completing the 4th Dragonwrath in the guild!

We, as a guild, sincerely hate you Lord Rhyolith. There i said it. Took us nearly 40 tries to get the phase 1 steering right, kudos to Defiance's dutch accent, while keeping up with the dps requirements of the various adds but the stars finally alligned & after a painful process, his internetz are now ours. Great job on the kill try, it was next to flawless till he just one shotted everyone but the bubble-adins AND Killspree's inspiration to use his Soulstone & taunt the boss, with all cd's active @ 1%.



Well talking about free loot, this boss could have been awesome but there just are so many ways you can completely ignore his hounds, its not even funny. I guess there just always is one of his kind in every raid. Always.

Brilliant first week for Genesis, kept our fast learning pace & managed to clear Firelands in our usual 3 days raiding schedule. We now stand @ 7/7 Firelands normal & we are eagerly anticipating the start of the race for Heroic:Firelands content, starting on Wednesday. Will be providing frequent updates to it.
